China is the future?
« on: January 25, 2012, 11:11:41 AM »
More and more Chinese PhD graduates are returning to China to teach.  They are being paid $60k.  That's almost the same as in the US.

And now China is trying to recruit and retain researchers and scientists.

Is China on the rise?  I do think so.  Not right away but maybe few decades from now.  Maybe some of us will move there to find work.  :)

Better learn Chinese.

China has major momentum and major foreign investment are in China...so it feels like that but the system of China is totally dependant on Foreign consumer and if the foreign consumer stops buying Chinese product the funding will dry up.  In my visits to China, I was told the manufacturing areas of south china became ghost town due to 2007/2008.  They are rising but they need us...we need them...it is a symbiotic relationship with lots of tension.

i would not bid on that, with china being 1.5B while usa at 300M, that's a huge 5:1 population ratio :D
that makes the chinese in china 25% of the world's population, that doesn't include those in other countries too :D

If you are just counting numbers, India is going to be number 1. China has the 1-child limits. India doesn't. And right now India is already getting close to having the same population count as China does.

You guys give these other countries too much credit. We lead; they follow.

The Art of War is all about prevention.
Ghandi didn't do jack. The Brits used India up and left.
Americans kick butt and set the rules.

I'm going off current information known because Chinese citizens hoard money.  The next generations will be more Americanize but Chinese government is already saying we need to stop foreign influence on our people.   ;D  Opium War all over again I assume  :'(

Most Chinese citizens I've ran into want to come to the US. Too bad the grass isn't greener on the other side--Or is it? ----> What do you guys think about the latest and greatest: http://money.cnn.com/2012/01/26/news/economy/Obama_millionaire_tax/  :2funny:

probably why the rich gets richer.  everything slants toward the rich.

they get huge tax breaks from expensive properties.  poor who can't buy properties end up paying for the tax breaks for properties of the rich.
the rich get tax like someone who makes $10k a year so they have more to invest and become richer.   once you are rich, getting richer is easier.
But getting richer when you are poor, everything seems to be against you.
