Where can I find other Singles with Careers?

This is a serious question, no jokes!

The older I get the more I wonder where all the other single Hmong (esp guys, i'm a woman) people are.  I'm assuming, they're like me?!  You go where you're career takes you and then you lose touch with Hmong people (besides your family/close relatives).  Other than getting set up by relatives (you know how that goes), where are all the other single Hmong people with careers?!  We need to start a legit group for anyone over 27.

Go visit the libraries, grocery stores, restaurants, lounge, gym, etc. (after 5p) at the well populated Hmong cities like St. Paul, MN or Fresno, CA or perhaps there may be some on PH, too. Don't limit your options. I find that people who search too hard limit their lovepportuniti es.

Stay positive, be patient, and don't be afraid to approach a fellow out there.

I know quite a few professional Hmong woman over 28+ who are single and never married. These type of women are a needle in a haystack. You need to meet other hmong folks who are friends with these women. They only take referrals and even with referrals you may not qualify.

I know more women than men too.  I wouldn't want to date a guy that went after younger women either.  It's not even about dating; it'd just be nice to meet people with the same values.

The only event I know of is a Christian Event.  Called SALT, host by the Hmong Christian Missionary Alliance once a year for 3 to 4 days in Nebraska.  It's for all single people 18 and up.

Only take referrals... Like I'm a client? Not thanks!! More like an elephant in a haystack and no one is finding... People who look at themselves too highly end up growing old by themselves.

I agree.  Not worth the trouble if that is their attitude.

I've had younger cousins attend SALT; it's typically targeted to the 22 and under crowd.  CMA does a great job of reaching out to young people during that crucial stage in their life.

if you're looking for 25 and over.... it's pretty hard.

Unfortunately, singles with careers tend to be too Americanized and closed-off to the idea of calling referrals by friends and family. The guys think it's too much of a desperate move and the girls suddenly think the guy must be some FOBBY mofo to even consider.  They need to find their Hmong roots and be accepting of this traditional way of courtship. At least just to jumpstart things. 

Not too long ago, there was a really attractive French-Hmong guy who came to work and live in the states. His real purpose was to also find a wife. He was highly educated and definitely husband-material but his problem was like y'all stated, he didn't know where to find the girls. He called a few referrals but they just treated him like crap without ever having met him. Perhaps this is why the men are resorting to divorcees or oversea girls. They're just easier to approach and aren't as judgmental.

Just saying, don't hate.
