please help, DELL Vostro 3700 laptop problem?

hello, all. when i was playing games, my DELL Vostro 3700 laptop screen turned black. one of my friends told me that i should replace the battery. That makes no sense. In other words, we need more information.  If it never turns black when you have the power cord plugged in, then it's the battery.  If not, then it's something else.

Anyway, your laptop should still be under warranty, so call Dell.  They'll tell you exactly what's wrong with it.
