Another poem I wrote about my "lost-luv" (more so the crush) who moved away in 8th grade. This was inspired from the night when I went over to his house to say good bye to him...with parting words and a simple kiss (on the cheek--hey, I was in middle school) and how I was to cope with losing my one luv.
Kiss Good-Bye
On that dark night that we said good-bye
I just wanted to cry
Just knowing that you were leaving the next day
Made me want to say
"Please, don't leave me!"
But eventually things were at ease
Though you're thousands of miles away
I think of you every single day
As these tears roll down my face
I know that this wasn't a waste
You're worth the wait
As I lie here on my bed
A thousand thoughts flow to my head
When will we meet again?
Meeting in the beginning, but meeting at the end
When will this be?
Is this love the key?
All I want from you is just to live life
If I were to roll a dice
To see how many more lonely nights
I should lie without the light
I hold you in my heart
But though we're apart
You hold the key
So, I need you to unlock me free
The words you say and write
Keeps me up all night
Sometimes I wonder if you really are there
Or was this all the air
The things you say mean a lot to me
How can I get you to see
The love that I have for you
All the grief and sadness that I have inside
Just to hide
From the fear of losing you
I just want to tell you my dear
Is that what matters most
Is that you are living, laughing, and that you are happy
Who cares about me, 'cause that doesn't matter
It'll only make things sadder
So the tears that I shed, were seen
The words that we said were heard
But I just have to leave you with this
Though I may have been dissed
And you are being missed
We've said good-byes plenty of times
We've hugged and cried
But one thing I haven't tried
Was to give you that kiss good-bye
So next time when we meet with a hug and cry
I will not bother to ask
But at the times of our farewells
You will receive a kiss good-bye
Not because I'll never see you again
No, but because I want you to know
That I love you so
And that we'll meet each other again in the summer.
