Computer Science...I wish I could let loose and just go back full time to pursue a PhD...tough with family and the need of a certain lifestyle.

It is tough but people like my husband won't give up on it.  He had a chance to pursued his Ph.D when our oldest was the only child and a big 8 years gap.  He spend 2-3 years applying for Ph.D program and got accepted to a few but just didn't make the final decision to go at the end because it mean moving, finding new job, etc.   Forward now........mor e kids and I thought he won't talk about it anymore.  In 2010 he apply to a Ed.D program close to home about 20 min. same school as he did his graduate studies almost 17-18 years ago. He made it to semi-final but not finalist into the program.  The program is good because it only hold class on Friday night and Sat. all day because they know they people who would be part of the program are mostly working people.

Just last night......... I was up until 12 midnight just helping him gather all information and everything to apply again for the Ed.D program because they only accepted application/admission into the program every 2 year.  It was like a last minute thing rushing everything because the deadline for application/admission submitted was today.  He took the day off from work today just to go drop it off.

I hate when my husband always do something last minute but then he always have problem with computer, format, etc. so I'm stuck dealing with him to get everything out of the way.  I'm praying he will have a better chance to get into the program this time since applying for the 2nd time probably show he is very determined to be in the program.  If not I told him to just get study for his license and get it out of the way and reach his top pay at work.

How do you science majors get a job after graduating? From researching job ads, they're always asking for a high degree (masters or Ph) and several years of experience. I know you can do interning and volunteer stuff but then most jobs will require paid experiences. It's one of the tough job market majors. People just end up being teachers.

Yup, there are some serious nerds here if what they claim is true.

Some of us folks are ashame to acknowledge our "adult GED" ---  :(  And I was voted, "Most Intelligent -- and likely to succeed."  ---   :2funny:

Watch out for "myyang994" --- I'm so jealous,  O0
