I promise its not a prank.  My office hours are always open, you know that.  I can't guarantee I'll be in since you're ALWAYS showing up unexpected.  You could wait or actually make an appointment but I'll doubt either of the two.  I could force you but that's too evil.   :P

Promises are made to be broken.  That's an old saying.  ;D  Sometimes you may not be able to go through with the promise, i.e. if something else comes up.  The lie and joke can go hand in hand.   You've lied before by playing a joke, even though it wasn't an intentional lie but in the end,  it was still a lie.  :P  You can't write me a poem yet because you have others you have to write for first.  :2funny:  Lastly, I've already responded to the scared statement. 

Overall,  your logic is flawed.   ;D    :P

Have I ever broken my promise/word to you?  I told you that I'm only good as my word.  A promise is a commitment and I see it through the end.  It doesn't matter what comes up unexpectedly.  My priority is fulfilling my promise and everything else comes second.  I admit my joke was a lie but I admitted in the end.  I give you that.  So who are these others that I'm going to write for?  If you've responded to the scared statement then which challenges have you accepted?    :D
