Chess database, algorithms stuff. I'm analyzing all the possible moves (many hundreds and millions of positions) and I create books out of it to tell the program to beat the hell out of you.
I need the engine to think really fast. If I lose to a game, I come back and analize where the move went wrong, and correct it, so next time it wont make the same move again. If I overclocked it, it find checkmate quicker. You get the idea. The chess engine effect the processor. Stronger cpu, stronger engine. Benchmark.
