Why so many vulnerabilities lately, what's next?

Known vulnerabilitie s for 2014 so far are the IE bug, Heartbleed, Shellshock and the recent SSLv3 also known as "Poodle".  What's next?

There's always a backdoor for everything.  Whenever we add new features it will only be a matter of time before someone finds out how to exploit it.
