The Tiny House
« on: May 20, 2015, 07:34:46 AM »
I think I might eventually do a tiny house, or an efficient living space.  I like my stuff, but all my stuff isn't that important.  I don't need any of my stuff.  I only keep them for sentimental value.  I have clothes that I don't wear.  Books that I probably won't read again.  Souvenirs.  Sports equipment.  Etc.  I still keep all my old basketballs for no reason.  If I can store all my media into one system, then that might be the day I do a tiny house.  Maybe I'll buy a storage unit for all my stuff if I ever feel like walking down memory lane.

This one looks nice.  It still seems big enough to host guests.  It would be even better if it was self-sufficient.

That is actually areally nice TH.  It wouldn't take too much to add solar power system and windmill to power that house.  Some tube natural lighting..good to go.

This tiny house is actually 2 beds and 2 baths.  I could covert one bedroom into an office, guest room, etc.  I think this one might be nice because I might regret going too small with other designs.

Very cute! It would be efficiency. If you are just one person living, I can see it work out. With this type of space, you have to have really good space management. No clutters.

A lot of Hmong people really want that nice big house, but I prefer a smaller efficient one.  I say "tiny house,"  but I really mean efficient.  Some tiny houses are shacks.  I still want to feel comfortable and have all the amenities.  I don't want a loft for a bed  because I don't want my nose against the ceiling.  Also, I want high ceilings because I don't want to feel cramped.  Those are just some of my aesthetic requirements.

I like this one.  I like the windows but sometimes too much window makes me feel unsafe.

There are some high impact glasses these days.  However, I would worried about privacy.  The glass design is nice for a small house because it creates a more open feel.

I love a lot of light.  When I'm rich, I will build one for myself. :)

I am not saying a tiny house (or small custom house) is cheap because it is still thousands of dollars, but it is cheap in comparison to other houses.  Even if you decided to get really nice options, the house will probably still be under $100k.  Chances are that it won't get that high.  Most people can salvage or they don't need every option.  A tiny house can be built for $15k.  The first house I posted goes for about $30k for the 2 bedroom option (cheaper if you get less options). You'll have to provide your own land though.  Even so, less than $100k.

These are just model houses.  You can customize, buy, and put them anywhere you want.  Obviously, the one at the beach is at the beach.   :)  I am looking at them for inspiration for my own design.

Bulbasaur, where are these tiny houses located?

Another one, but I think I would go without the funky furniture.

This isn't quite a small house, but I could do with just the first floor.

This isn't quite a tiny house, but it is a prefab.
