I don't think this book needs a sequel, but it is getting one.  And spoiler alert.....

Atticus is a racist?  Well, the book just came out.  I guess I might as well read it.  I am not sure if I would even consider it canon.

This book was actually submitted to the editor before To Kill a Mockingbird. However, Harper Lee was told to rewrite it from Scout's viewpoint. Lee never intended for Go Set a Watchman to get published.

Maybe this was the original idea Lee had.  Maybe this was the book Lee wanted to publish, but the editor didn't.  Lee gave her consent to publish the book.  Some argue that Lee was manipulated in her elderly age, but that's another argument.

Kind of off track but on...I read a blog review on To Kill a Mockingbird in which the owner of the blog said they did not and will not be reading that book because it made no sense to them.  Commenters agreed with the blogger.  I was like...wow.  To me, it's a must read.

My response is way old but why all the questions? I was merely submitting an interesting fact about the new book. Plus, why are you and the rest of your socialists so surprised about Atticus being a racist? I recently re-read the book, or should I say listened to the audiobook, and CLEARLY ATTICUS FINCH IS A RACIST!

Oh, he might not be the lynching kind of racist but he certainly is a racist. The title "To Kill a Mockingbird" is racist. Finch views black people as nothing more than pitiful creatures too ignorant and unintelligent to do for themselves and must depend on the charity of whites.

The soft bigotry of low expectations. Obviously, something that you libs are too arrogant to recognize in the mirror.  ::)
