Fresh Traditions IX Fashion Show

Center for Hmong Arts & Talent's (CHAT) is proud to celebrate the 40th year anniversary of the Hmong migration to Minnesota with Fresh Traditions IX Fashion Show, a culturally infused event on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at St. Paul’s Roy Wilkins Auditorium. Fresh Traditions is the Twin Cities’ only Hmong inspired fashion event exhibiting the creativity, originality, and quality of work by Hmong fashion designers.

Made possible with assistance from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, as part of the Knight Arts Challenge, this one-of-a kind fashion show provides guests with the opportunity to view exclusive collections from six emerging Hmong American designers as they take on the featured challenge—creating a garment in which traditional Hmong textiles must be incorporated in a contemporary form.

Created in 2006, Fresh Traditions has maintained its presence as a highlighted community event while transitioning into a sustaining program of CHAT that provides Hmong designers with a platform and resources for professional development. The support of the Knight Foundation enables Fresh Traditions to deliver high quality experiences for the advancement of Hmong designers.
