question about 22 rifle
« on: January 19, 2016, 11:57:52 AM »
I have a 22 rifle gun, I want to purchase bullets for it.

Do they all just use the same size bullets, like .22 bullets?

The rifle i have is the old typical ones with a small curvy magazine that seems to hold around 8 to 10 rounds.

it's similar to this.

Let me take a poke at this question.

From the look of it, your rifle maybe a .22 long rifle (.22lr).  Now, there are several different type of .22 ammo such as: .22lr, .22short, .22 magnum.

I am 99.99% sure your rifle is a .22lr.

In other words, if the bullets fit the magazine, then it's good start shooting?

looks like a ruger 10/22, more than likely you will need .22LR (long rifle) bullets.  they're often cheap and do clear the store shelves quit easily.

to purchase ammos, you just need to be 18...it's like buying candy out of a corner store.

Because if all the shootings going on, I hope they have not put a strict on it.

they don't ask questions when making a purchase on ammos.  however there is a restriction of how many boxes you can buy, often it's 10 boxes, per day.

Ok nice. Thanks

This is one of the hardest guns to get ammos for these days. That's because a lot of people have the handguns that use the same kind of ammos, and so everyone is buying them because they are trigger happy.

I have a Ruger 10/22 long and I only shoot cci hollw point or FMJ.
different 22 has different dimensional in casing sizes.
Example Remington .22'casing is a bit smaller. which the extractor of the Ruger 22 sometime cannot extract this casing out of the firing mechanism. Which in turn will get jam. And then ur firing pin will be mess up.

Make sure you get correct ammo
There are many types of 22

22 Long
22 short
22 mag
And just 22

The most popular an common 22 is the 22 long
Your ruger probably has that one
But check your manuals and barrel
