Chill out dudes...  O0  I'm just saying I like the new Cayman because it does not have the bug eye.  Didn't get the 911 because of that.  Too many people have GTR, Corvette, Lexus, NSX, Supra, etc...

Sorry, I probably read too much into the post.  I'm still in the honeymoon stage, haha.  :2funny: My bad.  Anyways, I agree, just get what you want.  After all, it's just a car.  If I cared what people thought, I would have gotten a GTR and be a fan boy hero.  ;)

Love the Cayman so far though.  Could use a little more low end torque for everyday driving.  But I knew that going  in.  Got new headers, exhaust and Cobb tune installing this summer, which  should help a bit.

Anyways, enjoy the ride fellow car enthusiasts!

Too many people have GTR, LOL.  To each their own.  Porsche makes great cars and someday I will get my hand on a 911 GT3 but for now the GTR will do for me as I am a fan boy:)

I think Porsches are slow car because they are mostly driven by slow drivers. What most people fail to realize is that a car is only as fast as it's driver. Most driver compensate their lack of skills with horse power. Like shooting at a target with a rocket launcher because they can't hit it with a pistol. It doesn't mean your skill and accurate, it just mean the the rocket with a 20 ft blast radius did the job for you, you just need to aim close enough.

Everyone calling the Boxster a poor man's porsche, yet they be driving econoboxes! The Boxster serves a completely different purpose than a 911. Ignorance seems run abundant here. A Porsche is a Porsche. I don't hear anyone calling a CRZ/Fit a poor man's Honda. A $60K Porsche is still $60K!!!

The term was coin when the first boxster came out because the average well paid salary worker can "afford" one. While it's still cheaper when compare to the 911, at 60k it's not cheap at all when compare to other cars. With today's car averaging 30-40K when fully loaded, nothing is cheap anymore. Question for you. What do Porsche driver see through their front windshield? A s2k ass because he just got served! LAMO

Yes it's the affordable porshe....

But dang!  It's so impressive nowadays... Like I said.. I wouldn't mind owning one now... back in the days, I didn't like their styling... now, they are starting to look awesome..

Plenty of power and sounds good.

Dunno where you guys get your info from but the Boxster Spyder and Cayman GT4 prices well over $100k easily.

Really?  The S2000 is 230HP and weighs the same as the Cayman/Boxster.  Cayman S quarter mile is 12.7 and GT4 is 12.3.  S2000 is 14.1 seconds.

S2000 is just the poor man's Boxster.   You're trying to compare German quality to an econobox?  Laughable. :2funny:

Sadly this is coming from a person who has never driven a Porsche.  Hahah.   Porsche are not known for horsepower, they are known for the driving experience.  Your statement clearly tells me you know nothing.

I'm not picking sides here that's why you'll see me going back and forth.

But, the s2000 isn't an economy box, it's actually a sports car, built ground up for one purpose only.  It's gas mileage isn't really that good for a four banger to an economy box anyways.  I remember when I was deciding whether to get the s2k, I was upset at the mpg and telling myself I should just might as well get an m3 instead, thier mpg is almost just as bad.   But went with Honda for reliability and plus heard a lot of m3 issues.

Anyways, I also think it's actually BMW that is about the driving exoerience.

U always see BMW commercials "the ultimate driving machine or experience" something like that.

Although porshes handles awesome too.

1) Why you mad bro? Guess your so offended  that you forgot to learn how to read the first sentence. I don't recall the first boxster costing 100k. Currently they do with options but not when they first came out and got coined the poor man porsche.  2) I'm not laughing with you...I'm laughing at you.  :2funny: Why because your one of those guy. We can bench race all we want and while you will win at bench racing, the reality is if you throw me in a s2000 and you in your porsche you will lose. Plain and simple. So enjoy that rare view of a s2000 because that is how it will be at the track. 3) s2000 is not a econo box? Your offending all the ricers out there with their stance out s2000. Your so up their with your high horse I wonder what kind of excuse you will make when you lose to that econo box. "daddy he must be cheating because I got xxx more HP, cost 3 times as much, and still lost to him"  4) when I go for the kill, LOL, I go straight for the jugular.

Sadly this is coming from someone who never track their car and think $$$ and HP will make them fast. Sorry to burst your bubble but fast driver requires talent and hard work. If we all can just be fast with our pocket book then all the Professional driver out there would be millionaires before they start their racing career. Besides I don't need to know anything because in a s2000, your only experience will be inhaling the tale pipe of my exhaust. s2000 for the win. 5 point palm exploding hear technique!

I saw one of the new boxster the other day at the gas station and I'm not going to lie, it looked nice, it had it's little tail spoiler up and everything.

And the other night, I saw a Lambo Diablo, nice looking too, I gave the guy a thumbs up.

There is also, believe or not, a yellow P1 rolling around, one day if we line up conicendently, I'll give him a go.

The old Porsche Boxster S & S2000 were pretty even with equal drivers.  The new Boxster S is faster if both cars have equal drivers.

Porsche owners actually call Boxsters "poor man's 911."  If you look from the front back when the first gens came out they looked identical to a 911 and 911 owners hated that, being mistaken for a boxster.  Even Porsche owners call the 944 a poor man's Porsche.

I really like both cars though.  Both are fun to drive, S2000 for track and Boxster S for DD.

Your right because back in the days the pro and con of owning a porsche is that most people can't tell the difference between a $40k boxster vs. a $100k+ 911. If you own a boxster you would get accolade of a 911 without spending 911 $$.

Now enjoy this video.
