Been in my job for 9 years now. I stick to it because the pay is good, it's not stressful, I don't have someone watching over my shoulder every minute, I get to work from home and be wife and kids, and most importantly it is necessary when you have a family to support -- having money to pay for bills and healthcare insurance.

What are your reasons for staying? Do you really enjoy doing your job?
I like what I do but the bureaucracy leaves much to be desire... and it also burns a lot of people out.

1.  family to support.
2.  easy job.
3.  not supervise much if any at all.
4.  pay is good.
5.  hours are good.
6.  get along with co-workers, (sometimes).
7.  I like how that run their schedules.

been job hoppin and shoppin since i was force into slavery...haha ha the longest I ever stay in any job was 8 years and that was because I was the boss, then the owner decided to sell the business and shit went south since...now they are struggling to make any revenues....oh wells...just a bunch of new faces there now....i drove by once and it was quiet as a mouse there...when i was there, machinery was always making noises. forklifts backing up like crazy and shit.....they say to be grateful to have a job, but business owners need to cut loose on their own pride and realize its a two way street baby....be grateful when you have good workers too....it goes both ways...

but anyway, i like my job, my real job...haha I only work for the healthcare...w ith these seasonal jobs...summer time and I'm constantly on the road again....i'm a independent contractor for a trucking company. yes, i can drive trailers, but i'm more of a diesel tech, a mobile one. I'm the guy who goes out 2-3 am to rescue a trucker's who's gotten a flat tire, or something simple to moderately simple to fix out there in the highways....lo ve my job just don't let me see your prostitute in the cab please....b/c then I don't want to touch your truck anymore...what if you got hepatitis c or some kind of std man...duck.... hahah

otherwise, I also play a lot of poker and blackjack...bu t local casinos has barred me pretty much...they let me play slots, but with slots its all intuitive feelings...you got to have that you just know you're going to hit the jackpot...and unfortunately that only comes once in a blue moon..and then it's only 99% accurate...for me at least..lols j/k...maybe 70% to be exact..7 out of 10 times....not like poker and blackjack where you can manipulate certain situations to your advantage...bu t this past season I hit my win goal early...so I'll be back....i paid the IRS a pair of arms this year...but its all good...i'm pretty much retire if I want, but i like to go to work to duck around...mainl y and for health insurance only..lols but really it's more of a guilt thing....than anything else...lols

Hmmmm let's see... I've been doing this for sooooooooooooo o long now and yes it's a career not a job.   I enjoy working w/ the population I'm serving, work load is manageable/not stressful, got nice office windows w/ sunlight coming through, my own little space where I can listen to music - make the work day relax and peaceful, supervisor don't monitored every step, and pay & benefits are fine.

My motivations for staying with an employer:
* Positive company culture = happy employees
   - Happy employees will feel like they can grow personally/professionally, will feel like they are valued/appreciated for their work, will feel like they can contribute positively to the company
* Flexibility
* Money
* Benefits/other factors

I never lasted more than five years at one company. What are your reasons for staying? Do you really enjoy doing your job? Feeling unmotivated. :( For me, if the pay is lower than $17, the job doesn't really seem professional and stable. Of course, we gotta make a living too. Every time I see other better jobs, it makes me want to leave. Salaries tend to peak around age 40.

Looking back to when I was 16 years old, it appears my history proves that I typically start looking for opportunities to move up within any company around 2.5 years. Depending on the company's way of treating my application and I after applying determined if I stayed or left the company altogether.

Currently where I am at, I do enjoy it most days...some days it can get a bit wild, but my current reasons for staying at my place today:

1) Satisfaction in helping people get into their homes
2) Monthly bonuses
3) Health Insurance
4) 401k
5) The people who I work with and who work for me
