Do your church encourage you not to be friend with non Christian people?

Whether people want to believe it or not, but some churches or at least some pastors/preachers do encourage their members to not be friends or not have a relationship with non Christians. Now you know, so for those of you that are Christians,  I suggest you shouldn't be so eager to dismiss it so easily the next time someone mentions it again. I shouldn't have to explain why people shouldn't ignore this  or any other similar issues because you ought to know it already. And if anyone who don't know why, then just asked me why and I'll tell you, it will help you and whatever group that you represent better yourselves though out life.

Some people are being honest when they say that they never heard about this, but after hearing about it, some become dishonest by lying to themselves that something like this can never happen. Ignorance is okay, everyone is ignorant in on some things. That's why many people are always searching for knowledge. That's how we improve as a human race. But some people will slow down our advancement by being willfully ignorant. Those people are dangerous when it comes to the advancement of the human race.

I've heard this on a few occasions. But the caveat has always been to "avoid associating with these individuals to avoid temptation". Not explicitly "do not be friends with non Christians". Not all Christians are Missionaries, but for those that are, it defeats the purpose of they are to avoid associating with non Christians.

I don't know how specifically christian/CMA churches work.  So, maybe these are more like cult followings that pushes this view?
All the churches I've been to that has been catholic does not push this view.

Maybe not unequivocally, but from my personal experiences, it's been more the results of some rogue churches and it's leader as opposed to organizational doctrine.

No.  All churches I attended and visited never promote such thing.  However, all the shaman and non-christian do.
