If you are a lead, you can take your boss aside or ask him for some time to discuss it. Some bosses will appreciate their employee or lead letting them know if things or behaviours arent acceptable.
I listen often to my lead and employees. To me, we are all the same. No special treatment. Its just that we have different responsibiliti es. I always have an open door policy so anyone can openly talk to me of any concerns, positive or negative. It boost morale.
I think your new boss is probably getting the title to his or her head, but also understand, we are responsible for a lor, including our people. But it doesnt hurt to talk to her/him. You can possibly even say in a suggesting way, hey how about we do it this way instead of that way..
Hope it all works out for you.
