Anyone collect them?  I always enjoyed looking at them, but they are so costly (specifically the combiner sets).

Got a small collection. Not too many gen 1 but a few of the toys r us Masterpieces that cane out a few years ago.

I got a few of the gen 1 metal type... I kept mine in their boxes and never been open. My bro got a few from Japan.
