Knife sharpening

There was a previous topic about knives in the forum.  I'm sure that if it's a part of a collection it doesn't see much use, thus it probably remains fairly sharp.  However, those of you who do use your knives; how do you keep them sharp?  That is, how do you sharpen them?  After all, there is no point if having a dull but flawless looking knife.   Do you use a belt sander?  Scratches?

I use a sharpening stone.  I love my Shun sharpening stone, but I learned quickly that knife sharpening is a skill.  On top of that, it's a skill I don't have.  I end up dulling the blade or changing the profile. '

How do you keep your knives sharp?  Share your tips and tricks?

Any sharpening stone should be good enough. You just need to angle/tilt the knife slightly and gently sharpen it with patience.

 It the $19.99 infomercial one.  It looks like two triangle stone being held by a black band.  You slide your knife down n in between the two stones.   It will sharpen even a credit card to slice tomato.
