I've said it many times in the past and I'll say it again:

It's OK to let go of the bad aspects that's not relevant anymore and in some cases, illegal and keep the good aspects of our Hmong traditions/cultural practices to move forward with...

That Hmong guy is correct that when Hmong can't let go of primitive practices, and act like primitive primates, others do labeled Hmong people as "dog"...

Regardless of race/ethnic groups, I think most if not all have good and bad tradition/cultural practice aspects but some just does a better job of letting go of the bad so they can progress with the good...

Abduction is not a tradition; it's an abuse by people with power. In this case, the men, even the men in the victims' very own clans against the women just because the entire "woman culture" is powerless in those communities.
