Bro, did you forget? Where you live, there's just fresh water.
it works for both fresh and salt...
lol... i live in the west like u too... colorado to be exact.... but i fish all over the country... i'm preparing for my florida excursion come march...
Are there big enough fish in fresh waters to bite salt water baits?
You'd still have to cross some states to get to the salt water though. lol. but florida. Nice!!
if you're trolling... tiger muskies, northern pikes, lake trouts, strippers, wipers, large mouth bass, etc... plenty of fresh water game species that will gobble up some saltwater lures for sure... i picked up a size 6k reel that holds 300 yrds of 30 lb braided line and an 11 feet rod... i'm going to use it for bottom fishing... lol!
for sure... the gulf coast is only 16 hours away from me... plenty of big ocean fish that can be caught off the shore there...
I see.Bottom fishing most likely will get you heavy cats only though. I love to fish cats but don't like to clean and eat them.
I have never driven more than 2.5 hours to go fishing. I won't ever drive more than that, unless it's going to Alaska via Vancouver.
we have hybrids here that will bottom feed too... actually, hybrids will eat pretty much just about anything... from artificial to live bait... a 10 to 15 inch hybrid aka wiper will peel drag...
that's a good thing for me then... knowing some guys won't go the distance... lol! yeah, texas aka the gulf coast is probably the furthest i've driven for fish... catch and release too... lol!
"Who let the dogs out"...Year of the dog...Will be celebrating it with the in-laws this weekend...
