The cops will have to pay for your hospital visit.  There was a florida case where a man was shot in the head by his wife while he was asleep.  He didn't die, but woke up with a big headache.  She drove him to the hospital where they found he was shot in the head.  She was arrested.  He was a known felon too, but they decided not to arrest him since they'd have to pay for his medical bills if he was arrested.

So.. If you need medical attention, go rob a bank or something that'll get you arrested, get treatment, spend a little time in prison, back on the streets again.
