Jesus is Yahweh or Jehovah
« on: May 22, 2018, 04:16:48 PM »
In this thread, I am going demonstrate 100% that Jesus Christ is Yahweh or Jehovah. Please stick to the topic to avoid messy thread.

The first proof comes from Matthew 21.

Mat 21:14  The blind and the lame came to him at the temple, and he healed them.
Mat 21:15  But when the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things he did and the children shouting in the temple courts, "Hosanna to the Son of David," they were indignant.
Mat 21:16  "Do you hear what these children are saying?" they asked him. "Yes," replied Jesus, "have you never read, " 'From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise' ?"
Mat 21:17  And he left them and went out of the city to Bethany, where he spent the night.

Notice what Jesus did here. When the children started praising Jesus, crying out in the temple “Hosanna to the Son of David!” The Jews were angry at Him. They’re telling Jesus to stop the children from giving Him such praise.

In response to the Jews, here's what Jesus said: “of course the children will praise me. Haven’t you read the Old Testament “‘out of the mouth of infants and nursing babies you have prepared praise’”?

This quote comes from Psalms 8:1-4, and it is referring to God ( or Yahweh) accepting praise from children to silent His enemies.

Psa 8:1 O Lord, our Lord, how wonderful is thy name in all the earth! for thy magnificence is exalted above the heavens.
Psa 8:2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou perfected praise, because of thine enemies; that thou mightest put down the enemy and avenger.
Psa 8:3 For I will regard the heavens, the work of thy fingers; the moon and stars, which thou hast established.
Psa 8:4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him?

BAM!!! This is exactly what Jesus did here - Jesus accepts praise from children to silent the Jews who did not believe in Him.

Jesus accepts praise and did not refused. This is evidence that Jesus is Yahweh. Yahweh received praise from little children.

The second proof comes from Genesis 18.

Gen 18:1 The LORD appeared to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance to his tent in the heat of the day.
Gen 18:2 Abraham looked up and saw three men standing nearby. When he saw them, he hurried from the entrance of his tent to meet them and bowed low to the ground.
Gen 18:3  He said, "If I have found favor in your eyes, my lord, do not pass your servant by.
Gen 18:4  Let a little water be brought, and then you may all wash your feet and rest under this tree.
Gen 18:5  Let me get you something to eat, so you can be refreshed and then go on your way--now that you have come to your servant." "Very well," they answered, "do as you say."
Gen 18:6  So Abraham hurried into the tent to Sarah. "Quick," he said, "get three seahs of the finest flour and knead it and bake some bread."
Gen 18:7  Then he ran to the herd and selected a choice, tender calf and gave it to a servant, who hurried to prepare it.
Gen 18:8  He then brought some curds and milk and the calf that had been prepared, and set these before them. While they ate, he stood near them under a tree.

Notice Abraham saw 3 men. They ate together and break bread and they eve ate an calf. Let's read further on to find out who were these men Abraham saw.

Gen 18:16 When the men got up to leave, they looked down toward Sodom, and Abraham walked along with them to see them on their way.
Gen 18:17 Then the LORD said, "Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do?
Gen 18:18 Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and all nations on earth will be blessed through him.
Gen 18:19 For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing what is right and just, so that the LORD will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him."
Gen 18:20 Then the LORD said, "The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is so great and their sin so grievous
Gen 18:21 that I will go down and see if what they have done is as bad as the outcry that has reached me. If not, I will know."

Note the bold verses. Who is talking here?

Gen 18:22 The men turned away and went toward Sodom, but Abraham remained standing before the LORD.

So the 2 men went down and Abraham remained with who??

If I'm right that one of the 3 men is Yahweh, and Yahweh remained behind with Abraham, then the two other men that went down with Lot must be someone else.

Here's further proof:

Gen 19:1 The two angels arrived at Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gateway of the city. When he saw them, he got up to meet them and bowed down with his face to the ground.
Gen 19:2 "My lords," he said, "please turn aside to your servant's house. You can wash your feet and spend the night and then go on your way early in the morning." "No," they answered, "we will spend the night in the square."
Gen 19:3 But he insisted so strongly that they did go with him and entered his house. He prepared a meal for them, baking bread without yeast, and they ate.

They were angels that went forth while Yahweh remained behind with Abraham.

Note: Yahweh is not in heaven. He is actually on earth! Talking and walking like a human.  I believe this is the pre-incarnate Jesus Christ.

This has nothing to do with Jesus. Many Christians would call that blasphemy.  To even think that there was another "god in the flesh" other than Jesus.

Why I believe in "pre-incarnate"... you don't think God could take on human body before incarnation of Jesus?

You see when Abraham saw the 3 men he said "my Lord" and he bowed down. The next thing what the text says is that they all 3 reply. "Very well," they answered, "do as you say" in verse 5. It's the whole triune God. 1 voice, 3 men.

And remember those 2 men were "angels" in disguised. they should be translated as "messengers". Because in Greek "angel" and "messenger" are similar.

Now if you look at it from this perspective it all changes how we interpret everything this whole passage.

So your conclusion is that, first there were 3 men. And there were only 2 men that went to Sodom. So where's the 3rd man?

Easy answer. Two went to Sodom and one went to Gomorrah.

Gen 18:22  The men turned away and went toward Sodom, but Abraham remained standing before the LORD.

So, the 2 of 3 men left to Sodom and yet 1 of them was still speaking with Abraham. But then the last 1 left as well.

Anyway, what's more interesting is that the 2 men led Lot out of the city because the LORD is going to destroy the place. If you read Chapter 19:13, it says "for we will destroy..." So who destroyed Sodom? All of them did.

Gen 19:24  Then the LORD rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah--from the LORD out of the heavens.

There's 2 Yahweh here. One on earth and one from heaven. BAM!!!!

There's nothing saying that only 2 men left and 1 stayed behind. "Men" doesn't mean only 2.

This actually shows that your conclusion is a false dichotomy. It is also possible that Yahweh was never actually there physically speaking to Abraham.

Gen 18:22 The men turned away and went toward Sodom, but Abraham remained standing before the LORD.

Read Genesis 18 all the way to the end of the chapter, it says the LORD left as well after this.

This actually shows that your conclusion is a false dichotomy. It is also possible that Yahweh was never actually there physically speaking to Abraham.

The text says "in the form of 3 men" appeared to Abraham is it not?  And the LORD was among one of them speaking to Abraham. Read the text.

Gen 18:21 that I will go down and see if what they have done is as bad as the outcry that has reached me. If not, I will know."

When you get to chapter 19, how many showed up in Sodom then?

Argument by repetition doesn't make your argument true. Especially when avoiding my points.

I failed to see your points. Where are your Scripture to back up your points?

Again, you're avoiding my points. I refuted your claims giving reasons why their wrong and you just keep on repeating your claims over and over.

If y'all wanna know if Jesus is God then the question should be "Have you met him in person?" other than getting info from the bible.  :2funny: :2funny:
