What is with this thing with Hmong Lao tying people up for stealing something as insignificant as a few corns?

And they even post these kind of things in YouTube. How sad, sickening, and embarrassing.

It's not what they stole. It's the lesson and it's the way they shame you. Remember, face is everything in Laos. Degrading your parents' name is the lowest kind of humiliation you can do to your family. Now the entire community know what you are about. Your value as a human just took a dip.
