...population in the U.S. really that insignificant that it didn't even show up in the radar in regards to this data from the Census Bureau in 2015??  ???:

Little surprised because I saw a decent amount of Mien people in Laos and even during my time at the refugee camp.. Perhaps more went to France and other countries???

Miens and Karens were too small in populations that they may have been left out.

The Laotian population contains some Hmong for sure.

Looks that way. I think you are correct in regards to "some Hmong" are counted and added to the Laotian total population...H eck ProudLao may even be Hmong for all we know...;D

There maybe an error reading for the viets and Chinese counts as some viet's can speaks duel languages but not sure which side they would be counted as. 

Some viets that speaks Chinese like my janitor buddy hated the Chinese.  He pled his loyalty to the country that borns him.
