How much do you think is a good deal on a turkey?
« on: November 14, 2018, 08:07:19 AM »
49 cents a pound here in San Jose.

I remembered a discount promo once where it was 19 cents a pound if you buy $25 worth of their grocery.

That bird meat is cheap year round.  Cheaper than chicken but dark meat is not desirable for some odd reason.  Too chewy I suppose.

Hard to say as it depends a lot on several factors like USDA grades, brands, organic vs non-organic, etc. but at 49 cent per lbs doesn't seem too bad...

You guys need to go to them thrifty stores to see the deal.

Bird so cheap and 10lbers is enough meat for a sizable family.

Don't be like zdn the free loader in purpose but if the guy is starving and has no turkey for the holiday, he can enjoy the bird with me.  My Birdy finger.

Turkey to us old school folks are to be eaten on Thanksgiving holiday only.  I don't even think that there is turkey in Vietnam so thus why I say it is foreign to us refugee folks.  Even if there are, probably expensive.

So imagine being fed turkey only one day out of the year.  Well more than one day cuz of leftovers but yeah, years after years, all them turkey leftovers meat goes to waste.

The anticipation to eat but after you are done and full, you are really done till next year.

I like to take the leftovers and strip it down and make it into a pull pork style or like tuna sandwich style but with turkey meat instead.

Myth busters.  Turkey meat don't make you sleepy but the fullness makes you sleepy.  I always thought that turkey meat is hard to digest thus why your body gets tired in digestion that you fall asleep.

Aldi has $.89 a pound per a friend.  That's very low cheap!!!!
I'm going there this week.

Otherwise, everywhere I've gone to is $1.19 a pound.  And I thought that was cheap already!

pH needs to have a way like Facebook where one can upload a picture from our Fon to share.

I was 2 feet away from a hen turkey earlier this morning at work.  A sign of the times that Thanksgiving is Ahmong us and these domesticated Turkey are so used to people that they no scare.  She stood there long enough to get shot by my camera fon.   I'm on the clock so can't be doing ghetto stuff on campus as cameras are everywhere but try to see me again at another campus like a Walmart store and things would of been different.

The city of UC Davis has a wild turkey outbreak.  No one eats them so they kept on multiplying and terrorize that poor college campus city.
