Couple, Homeless Vet Arrested In GoFundMe Scam That Raised Hundreds Of Thousands Of Dollars, Prosecutor Says

All three have been charged with theft by deception and conspiracy to commit theft by deception.

McClure and her boyfriend, Mark D’Amico, started the fundraising campaign last year after claiming that Bobbitt gave McClure his last $20 to buy gas. The effort raised $400,000.

Would of gotten away with it had the friendship was true where the money is split down the middle.  So when people double cross, the cat will be out the bag. 

I lost hope in GoFundMe. 

Saw a guy posted a picture of a house burning down by the camp fire and with no description, asking $25k.  He got $250 so far.

Sadly there are plenty of frauds out there that have no shame at all at scamming others...
