Montana cooker wins top prize at Nugget rib cook-off in Sparks

Thirteen judges spent two hours deliberating over — and savoring — the West’s best ribs on Monday afternoon, the 30th year of the Best of the West Nugget Rib Cook-Off. The stakes were high for the judges and the 23 cookers vying for the coveted “best ribs” title and $19,500 in cash prizes.

Montana Q Bar-B-Que, of Missoula Montana came away with the prize, a big trophy and $10,000. Tom Moua, who co-owns the restaurant with his wife Mary Hang, says that while the award is good for business, it’s also a matter of pride.

That pig didn't look too big or like a fully grown adult size but still big enough to feed a large party...so 215 dollars still seem pretty fair...Probabl y why it "sold out" so quickly...
