Another aspect of looking to share your life with someone else...if you have children, you may need to expand it further by looking for someone who are also willing to love your children too.

Oh and all them gossiping stories, old wives tales about the evil stepmom.

I'm fine with it. As a parent, I don't keep score.  I help them because I love them.  It's called unconditional love.  If I wanted them to return the love, then it would be conditional love.

Better you than me in regards to continuing to enable your adult kids even if they disrespect and abuse you like a dog or dirt..
