this family was really well respected
really "popular" and well known through our clan
had like 5-6 kids
all their kids are really successful with nice house and cars
none of their kids show up
it was just your homeboy: hmgrock and a couple of OG

anyways,
here's your homeboy working since no one is there

How come so few of your clan go?  Also, what about outside of the clan, how was the turn out?  In the Hmong culture, your circle is as big as how you want it to be..  and that's what you get.

i think once the OG and hmong elder die
we will probably lose our culture and hmong tradition
no more 3-4 days funeral or gathering

i think this is because our hmong gen x and millennial
just don't care/want

they just don't seem to care anymore

anyways, here's a pic of some hmong clan/relative in vietnam
their bond are strong, even when they just eating rice+water

I don't think they are the reasons.  In this country, we've got plenty and many times we don't go for the food anymore but  to show up/support/for the event.

Again, in the hmong culture, you get what you put out... sad but true.  If you're too busy to attend, in the future people will be too busy to attend yours too.

Quite sad, I do notice this alot with the newer generation.

There is something that has been lost.  People are just more selfish nowadays.  It's sad kids nowadays don't really care about third parents, it's not even really about caring, it's more like I think they just don't like to be bothered.

You know what the sad thing is? If third friend like non Hmong as them for help they would go help them.

It may be that the younger generation has such a different network of friends and people they rather be around nowadays that they don't care too much for third own family and people anymore.  Quite sad.

I went through all 15k posts and those 2 quotes I found were the only ones so I guess that would make it "everytime".  Feel free to go through all 15k posts and verify by quoting them all.  You need to quote them all to verifying prove "everytime".   Please verify that Im wrong.

1. don't want food poisoning

That might actually be the number "1" reason since you have no problems giving "spoilage" food to others... ???

Cool, at least you didn't "fake" about being there personally and then get caught red handed by another PH member... ;D

Clan bonds are only as good as our need for each other.  Once people become very successful where their dependence on each other is no longer necessary, the clan bond ceases to be important, and family time begins to be more important.  Look at 2nd and 3rd generation American-Hmong for insight on this.
