Depends on the individual, it may be "weird" to you but doesn't necessarily mean it's weird to others...

It's not weird to them that's why the child was given the name but a name is important in a person's life and people need to come up with a good name even if it doesn't sound weird to them.  When I see a child with a name like "Chim Siab", Luagntxhi, Muaj Zog, etc... I wonder there's so many names parents could have given to a child, why those?  You also don't want  names that kids going to make fun of them later on and also a name they will be proud of.   A name is important.

DC, do you know the simple fact that opinions can vary when it comes to subjective things like names, colors, cars, food, hotels, jobs, vacation spots, clothing, hobbies, electronics, movies, books, songs, etc.?

I watched American Idol way back at the beginning and some times I agree with Simon and some times with Paula, and some times with Randy's opinions but not all the time.

Nope, a bad name is not like "bad singer" because a name is not equivalent to singing skills so that's not a "good" analogy. It is better to tell the truth when it comes to facts but when it comes subjective opinions like names, it's still just depends on who's truth...

Simply put: If someone tells you your kid has a bad name, are you going to change it based on his/her subjective opinion?
