Was there couple of months ago and this was the exact road I took to get to Idyllwild and Mt. San Jacinto Park:

heard about this it, sucks to whoever lives in the middle because i heard the entry and exit are closed due to maintenance no one cant leave the mountains

Agree, one way in, one way out...That's the thing with the more isolated areas..It's natural beauty hasn't been abused as much as the metro areas but not many detour...remin d me of one of my favorite spots (Big Sur) when the mudslide hit a couple of years ago..
