Found a PDF version of the white Hmong dictionary.. created before the war.

Although I like using the Hmong online dictionaries to look up hmong words that aren't used daily, sometimes, I can't find what I'm looking for, so this pdf definitely helps. 

Like today, I was looking for the word Txoom.  My dad used this word in his kwv txhiaj so I was trying to figure out what it was.  The Hmong online dictionary was no help since I couldn't get a word match but was able to just reference the word in this dictionary by scanning through it.

Who knew that one day, Hmong people would depend on the works of the white man to learn their own language.

I might still have my hard copy.

But I haven't used it much. Most of what I use are in my Hmong community here. For example, if I want to know what "nqi mis nqi hno" means, I just talk to a Hmong girl. If I want to know what "nplua cawv" means, I just talk to a Hmong boy.

Using that dictionary, I was able to figure out what "tsoos npua" was.

Nice... and the author is a linguist and incorporate his knowledge into this works.  First copy was in 1969.

Till now, whenever I hear it, I keep thinking pig clothes, but found out from the dictionary that it also means wrapped around clothing. Like an apron.
