not big fan of crappies to be honest. its texture is like mushy rice to me. haha i'll have to check with one of my maternal uncles if he ever made crappie jerky..haha

Some Hmong would think of that as good luck. They might even mount it to take around.

uncle said he prefers blue gills over crappies. that's all i needed to hear from him. lols He said it's very hard to find crappies of those sizes in california unless you are invited to private land to fish. He claims the biggest crappy he ever caught was 12-14 inches but said it looked to be a hybrid of some other fish and let it loose due to fear of bad luck. ahaha
