New lure to try

As always, there's only so much lures in similarity.  It's just that, that similarity but yet subtle difference that makes it look all sparkly like jewelry that you have to try.

Do fish bite on new fashions?

I have always been curious about that.

My to-go lures have always been live baits, especially minnows. I hardly buy artificial lures.

I guess depending on what you fish.  I only target bass, so all my lures are artificial lures.  Not saying that you can't use live lures for bass.

I sure like using poppers and seeing how they spit water differently or make the plomb sound.  Even artificial lures sits on the water differently like if they're leveled or tail down at 45 degrees more or less.  Some you cast and they fly like a dart, others spin and tumble in the air.

Just how a fish hits artificial lures is like a profoundness to the evasive thought of why did it bite it?

I've found that bass love live frogs, live leeches, and live crawlers. But I'm not too fond of holding those. Frogs, ok, but the other two wiggly kinds? Scary.

I have a few sets of artificial soft frogs whose feet beat a lot on floating back. Bass lov'em!

How far do you need to cast?  Most of my 1/4 oz poppers I can cast about 35 yards on a baitcasting rod.  I might get 40 yards on spinning rod with like set up.  Most times I only need 20 to 25 yards cast distance.

If you had a leech on hook with a tiny split, it doesn't fly far on the 8# line.

Yes that's right.  Often times fish that are biting don't need to be very far away either.

Have you seen weed guard hooks?  Often times bass jigs have a weed guard on them.

I got those hooks from Banjo one time. Not good enough for me.

I know how to create weed guard baits now. Just use a bead on the spot that connects to the base of the hook and hide the hook tip on the bait's body. Weeds will part on the way back.
