there are over 10,000 737 jetliners in service and each costs about $50-80 millions...it's easier to rebrand it than to scrap the whole entire fleet.  Provide confidence to it's frequent fliers by putting a parachute ejector button in the cockpit and call it Boeing 6969..."ride the sky with the new an improve safety feature"!  ha!
