Human Emotions
By Lilly

There are times when you just have no words to describe all that you're feeling.

Sometimes the human condition just seems all so overwhelming.

Sometimes you just want to shout from the mountaintop,
And let the world know your joy!

Other times the fragility of life,
The suffering you see,
The tears you cry,
Make you wonder,
What is the point of everything.

I wonder what people see when they look into my eyes.

We live in a crazy world;
So chaotic, so upside down.
We go through the motions of life
Sometimes fully aware of the moment
Enjoying the ride,
Other times wondering if we are still alive.

Trying to make sense of the world is like trying to catch the wind;
Sometimes you think you have it figured out,
Other times you wonder when the mystery will end,
When will peace and true equilibrium begin?

The world is a great big world,
But sometimes it can feel so small,
So many parts you haven't been to,
But other times the distance is not so far,
For humanity is a shared experience right in your own backyard.

Everyone weeps, everyone has scars,
So much pain, so much suffering,
But we take from the poor until our jars are overflowing;
We hate with such passion,
Can't be satisfied until the breaths of our enemies are snuffed.
In the end, mankind is doomed by emotion
Because enough won't ever be enough.

(Something to describe my current feelings regarding this "Trump era" of the U.S. government and the hate-filled shootings of late.)

https://youtu.be/7BJ7MDOmLPE:

I remember when I didn't know stuff
And that was the best time.
I smelled the earthly scent, in the dirt, in the air,  and as far as I knew,
I was the earth and the earth was me.

Without warning, my first heartbreak came,
That fateful night, I heard the sky cry,
Its tears poured down on me,
And I felt dizzy as it drenched me with grief
When he was taken from me.

I saw the sadness wash over her,
She could not get up,
And it felt like I would lose her too,
The pangs of her grief were silent, loud, and long,
I wanted her back but she was forever changed--
She lost her soulmate,
She was somewhere in between her kids and sleep,
And at seven, I had my first glimpse of Lover's grief.

Some time passed and she remembered about us,
I think she decided she had to be tough and get up, and she did
Right by us.

In the dark we walked and walked,

Until one by one all five shadows waved bye to me,
And I was walking alone.
That was my second heartbreak,
All in one fell swoop,
My heart crushed,
Piece by piece...

I walked the lonely road alone...

Until I met him again,
He became my father and mother, and forced me to smile,
Even though his pillow was wet most nights,
He stayed by my side and held my hand tight,
He said, "I love you and you love me most"
But he closed his eyes
And that was my third heartbreak,
Maybe in my past life I made a big mistake.

I thought I was numb and done,
But then they came...
Each to hold one of my hands...
They gave me purpose...

And I was back on land.
