2nd marriage
« on: May 13, 2019, 12:44:07 PM »
Do the groom still bow to the bride's side of the family if she's been married once? Asking for a friend.  :)

No, no bowing.  The groom and his people will go to the bride's family.  Both side will ask to make sure the bride and groom agree to the marriage etc..etc..etc. . and then next comes discussing the bride price and I'm thinking most will go w/ the standards set by the 18 xeem..  After that, groom and his people will start chopping the pig and the feast follows... and off the groom and bride to start their new life together...The End :D :D

Bowing for respect or does it mean something else?

The correct term is "kowtow."

yes, if the family is still traditional but very limited, maybe just few times with respect to the parents and close relatives and people involved.

those that are of the christian or western faith, would tend to forgo the kowtow, just negotiate, eat and drink.

I don't think bride price applies on second marriages.  She's like a used car now.  ;D

that's a bad comparison.  even used car, you have to pay a price.

Usually, 1.5K plus a pig feast to commemorate the efforts of all those involved and bind the marriage.

When I say "a pig", I mean just one pig.

Yes the groom still has to pay.

YAX doesn't have very good opinion about these things.

that's a bad comparison.  even used car, you have to pay a price.

traditional family so I guess the groom will still "kowtow" along with paying for the discounted bride price??

No kowtowing and yes on the bride price - check your state 18 clan manual on the fee.

This scene should be edited to: "You will kowtow to me!"

In this video, Zod is saying "heirs", not "ass."
