Ranking all 32 quarterbacks
« on: May 14, 2019, 08:20:48 PM »
According to sportingnews. Do you agree?

“These rankings are based on how each QB performed last season and the upside of how each might perform in 2019. No matter how many Super Bowl rings or MVP awards a QB has won, or the number of efficient passing seasons he has posted in the past, history is a small part of the equation. We thought about where each QB ended up last season in terms of effectiveness, production and durability, and then we thought even more about how his talent and offensive support set him up for success (or lack thereof) this season.”

What’s your ranking?

1. Mahomes
2. Rodgers
3. Brady
4. Brees
5. Wilson
6. Luck
7. Rivers
8. Ryan
9. Mayfield
10. Roethlisberger
11. Wentz
12. Goff
13. Watson
14. Prescot
15. Trubisky
16. Garoppolo
17. Stafford
18. Cousins
19. Newton
20. Winston
21. Mariota
22. Darnold
23. Jackson
24. Foles
25. Allen
26. Darlton
27. Fitzpatrick
28. Carr
29. Manning
30. Flacco
31. Murray
32. Haskins

Agree with some, not with others...It's like ranking the GOAT in football and other sports...it's pretty much all opinions...Eve n many of those great athletes agree regarding the opinion factor.

effectiveness, production and durability.

Why is Rodgers number 2?

Rodgers
62.3% completion, 4442 yards, 25 TD
6-9-1

Russel Willson
65.6% completion. 3448 yards, 35 TD
10-6-0

Tom Brady
65.8% completion 4355 yards, 29 TD.
11-5-0

If we're looking at overall impact the QB has on the team and potential for improvement next season.
Baker should be number 1.

Browns 2016 - 1 - 15 - 0, 4976 yards, 15 TD, 14 Int (w/o baker)
Browns 2017 - 0 - 16 - 0, 4942 yards, 15 TD, 28 Int (w/o baker)
Browns 2018 - 7 - 8 - 1, 5900 yards, 29 TD, 17 Int  (w/ baker)

Baker's stat's alone.
63.8% completion, 3725 yards, 27 TD
6- 7 - 0

And then Mahomes.

Chiefs 2016 - 12 - 4 - 0, 3740 yards, 19 TD, 8 Int (Divisonal round loss) (w/o mahomes)
Chiefs 2017 - 10 - 6 - 0, 4104 yards, 26 TD, 8 Int (Wild card loss) (w/o mahomes)
Chiefs 2018 - 12 - 4 - 0, 4955 yards, 50 TD, 12 Int (w/ mahomes)

Mahomes stats - 5097 yards, 50 TD
12 - 4 - 0

Production? Yes he produced more than Alex Smith did.  But did he make the team all that better? It's a toss up, they were in the playoffs without him.  He helped them win cause he can score fast AEB the TD ratio.  But he didn't turn a losing team into a near winning team.  He took a team that was already winning and just continued winning with them.

Not goign to refer to past seasons, I wonder why. They probably are the same people who say "NO ONE CARES ABOUT THE PAST."
Rodgers shouldn't be in the Top 5.  He was irrelevant last year as he was the years before.  And we're not expecting any difference next year.
Wilson could definitely see a slump with the team's roster's drastically changing each season, especially this one.
Who is counting Brady out again? Is it because he doesn't have Gronk?  He hasn't always had Gronk and did well.
If anything, Mayfield should be up again.  he could slump, but there's a good chance he will shine this season.

Wentz.. Are they excluding the fact that he's currently having back problems?

According to the article they are predicting that Rodgers  will have an MVP like season with the offensive minded head coach. I disagree, I have always seen him as overrated.
