of the 32 students who remain, 2 are doing math... i've only had to help explain once to one of the two math students what the distributive property is... seriously, it's like babysitting and giving them positive words of encouragement to finish their classes... we started off with 57 students... of the 25 who are no longer here... some finished early and some dropped out...

Yep, some ignorant folks don't get it but here in California, K-12 public school teachers wages range from about 40k-100k plus depending on where you teach, educational level, which subject and how many years of experience...

So if you break that down and factored in less hours and days than a typical 40 hr/week and more work day job, the hourly wages or unit pay is actually pretty good for teachers...i.e ., some are making like 80-90 dollars per hour.

i'm not sure what your perception of teachers are but not all of us live with our parents... lol! for the record, you can never pay a teacher enough... lol!

Living in his "mommy's basement" and leeching off of her so he doesn't understand what work is...

His "mommy" even got him a "20 hour/week" job to help but he couldn't handle that either..still just rather play COD all day and night and have his "mommy" do everything for him like cooking "bacon"...

i agree... that's why as a district... we've gone away from common core... common core is good if students have a strong "number sense" understanding. .. i taught at a supposedly early college high school... man, the kids i tell you... i had to front load them with so much info that it felt traditional math was to our benefit than common core... lol!
