We decided to take a walk around my daughter's neighborhood.  These homes are worth around $2mil and up.

Even if you had the money,  why would you :idiot2:

Let's be real.  California is not that great and there is plenty of good paying tech jobs everywhere :idiot2: :P

Interestingly, many folks are opting for an RV instead of renting or buying a home.  You can see RV's parked along company curbs as you drive around.   On the other hand, you have these crazy rich asians and others around who's parents buy them these homes just so they can go to college in the Bay area.  These rich folks are the reason you see so many Tesla's around the bay area.  I mean, it seems like 1 out of 5 cars in the Bay is a Tesla these days.

A lot of homes are actually getting gentrified as soon as they are bought.  The only ones that are not changed (like many of these) are the ones where the owners don't want to sell because they either have an attachment to it or they know that if they sell, they can't afford to buy another home in the area.  Imagine the taxes though.

I don't know about Colorado, but most schools I know of don't have 401K's.  They have 403B's plus a pension.
