Even if you had the money, why would you Let's be real. California is not that great and there is plenty of good paying tech jobs everywhere
those homes are only worth as much as what folks are willing to pay... lol!

A lot of homes are actually getting gentrified as soon as they are bought. The only ones that are not changed (like many of these) are the ones where the owners don't want to sell because they either have an attachment to it or they know that if they sell, they can't afford to buy another home in the area. Imagine the taxes though.

I don't know about Colorado, but most schools I know of don't have 401K's. They have 403B's plus a pension.
