Give them a break, you said it yourself that fishing is hard. They're just beginners wanting to pick up some pointers from a pro fisherman. Be a good sportsman and help teach them how to fish properly. Perhaps cast a couple times using their pole so they will have a third person view of how to cast it properly. 

Here's a saying......
"Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man how to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.
Let a man scare the fish away, and you end up not feeding the both of you for a day(s)." 

Seriously though, I'm not a huge fan of fishing, so whenever I go fishing with the family, I usually just using one of their fishing poles and often ending up hooking on worms or minnows.

those expensive fishing gear, yup that's some good marketing for noob folks

you can't go outside
and expect wildlife, fish, and deer to be everywhere

it don't work like that
maybe if you are fishing and hunting on a gate fences
