What will the English language do with the word "woman'?

Berkeley is turning to gender-neutral terms. That means getting rid of anything that refers to "man" and coining a new word that would have retain the meaning but spelled differently.

"Man-made" likely will be "human-made."

But the word "woman" has the syllable "man" in it. Yet it refers to the female gender.   So, what will the language do about that?

Here's the article on what Berkeley is doing. I don't think they have done well enough when they are changing "man-holels" only to "human-holes."
