Guns aren't to be used on people ever.

Okay, I won't be a good soldier...

Having a gun to shoot the husband that is trying to shoot the wife is another reason.  ;D

Shooting the wife seems to be one of the reasons.

well, if women stop being a homewrecker...they wouldn't be shot, right?  same goes for men, they get shot for breaking into someone's home too! ha!

There are reasons to want a gun......but are there really “good” reasons?  I’m not so sure about that.   8)  Before anyone says for protection and/or hunting, there are other weapons and/or products out there that can be used.   ;D

It's a tool. I'm not going to argue right or wrong, good vs evil...blah blah blah

I will argue for efficiency. And intent. And as far as that goes for me, I would purchase one. But I understand and accept the responsibiliti es inherent with this tool.

I concur.  Sometimes, it’s what is easiest and as you say stated “efficient.”

Bow and arrow required lots of skill and strength

Knife, you can forget about it, the animal will smell you and run away

Trap, you will get anything including human

Practicality.

If it's me against anything larger than a pig, I'll opt for a gun.

Simple answer is PROTECTION and hunting. I don't see any other reason to own a firearm other than that.

for protection?  Well if you shoot at someone, let not be a dead body in your house cuz your azz is going to have to sell that house or move out.

for hunting?  Well it is about 100 degrees outside and let alone camping, I cringed.   Plus, from time to time, you see a dumb trigger happy hunter be shooting at anything that moves which includes you as well.

so I guess I'll buy it as a collectable item.  Clean it, oil it down and remind myself that this weapon here and the likes are the causal to many deaths and suicide.  The power to take a life like it is a god.
