..named after him, it could ruin it IMO so glad to Republican law makers came to their senses:

Oklahoma lawmakers want to designate a portion of Route 66 as 'President Donald J. Trump Highway'

Republican lawmaker ends effort to name stretch of Route 66 after Trump

I say that because I drove on Route 66 several times over the years and it's a nice historic route so it should be left as such  O0:

That highway 50 going from tahoe to denver looks just like that.

Good scenery but not much help along the way if you needed any.   My dad had a few gallons of gasoline inside them red canister and had it in his trunk.  I thought he was nuts but turns out we needed to use it cuz we miscalculated the distance from one gas pump to the next.  Plus it was a night time driving so gas stations in the boonies are usually closed.  I was so happy to see a chevron, the only chevron in town and I just so happened to have a chevron gas card.  No need teller when closed.  Just pay at the pump and go.

Hit a deer along the way and the car was damaged big time.  By the time we got to denver car rental station, the rep already knew it.  Had deer juices all over the hood and what not.  Got out next car and off we go on our trip.

Took hwy 80 home for safe keeping

I've been on that route too and it's lonelier than 66. Plus most of that 50 stretch is only a two lane highway and that's all it's needed as there just not much traffic..Here's a photo I took driving back to CA from CO  O0:

100 MPH? No problem as there's no traffic  ;D:

The east side of the Sierra Nevada mountain range is in sight  O0:

You know you made it to Nevada when you starting to see these casinos and I bet you can count on seeing Asians gambling in it too even though it's in the middle of no where..  ;D:

Even the film, "Cars" has a town on route 66  ;D:

"Radiator Springs. Radiator Springs is a fictional town in the Cars series created as a composite of multiple real places on historic U.S. Route 66"
