It’s like work, not every employees will bring something but they are welcome to join in, plenty of foods.

Maybe they are on a budget.

that's what I'm saying.  You have to give people the benefit of the doubt.  If people are rich and they are like this then maybe we need to talk but some household, we just do not know what kind of hardship that people are going through.  Maybe every year is a hardship for some.

Besides, tis the seasons of giving so it's ok.  Just show up to eat my food cuz it is sad that some people have food but no one show up.

I think every family has a family member that is like this.  Once or twice it's okay but when it becomes every gathering, it becomes a problem. All the hard working wives has a right to be upset. I would be to.

I know my wife(other wives house) was upset
Because i got an earfull on the way back home in the car

Don’t she know what a POTLUCK is”???

I just zip my mouth and remain quiet

Your co workers got a job?

ok, we know where you stand and it is written all over your face.

Next time, when someone doesn't bring a dish to your potluck, gofund them $5  to help support.

You weak bra.  We all know you are scared chitless and your wife wears the peenus in your family.

Next time, learn something from me and tell your wife to shut her trap.  The poor doesn't need to play on the same leveling field as the full.  Then again, your nursing wife makes more money than you so you better shut your trap.   :2funny:

Lol...I know what you mean brotha. I used to think like Duma, but after years of not contributing their part I just let my wife rant all she wants. It has gotten to the point where I don't even want to invite these people anymore...and its sad because I'm not that type of a person.

I'm the guy, who usually has nothing to share or brings nothing.  That's why I keep telling people, that I do not want to leech off of anyone, when I have nothing or so little of nothing to even share or give.

I will bring the wine...but I need to go to the liquor store first.  And that's an almost never...

The real villain is looking at you.  The last hero was just not true.  If everything works out in the end.  It's because all things make amends.

I'm so over STINGY and GREEDY people.  I'm to the point where I'm GLAD that they show up to spend TIME with everyone.  Money doesn't have a lot of value to me, but TIME, that's a commodity you cannot buy back even if you are Bill Gates.  Hopefully, this perspective helps to grow the goodness of your humanity.

Other things I seek are LISTENING (coachability), RESPECT, KINDNESS, and GRATITUDE.  As a true giver, the people I dislike the most are ingrates.  Even then I try to tell myself that I am undeserving of Christ and he grants me GRACE by MERCY and so I grant them mercy like Christ granted me mercy and granted me grace.  Truly this is the core message of the Holiday and the SPIRIT.

Had a family potluck thanksgiving
Every family was supposed to bring something
My wife make some fried noodles

Just as we suspected
This family members show up empty hand
Did bring all his kids (6 of them)

They say they don’t have money
And just show up to eat anyway

My wife and the other housewives are a little upset
