youtube has a matrix that pays their youtuber.  I think $1 per every 1000 views might sounds about right for the average or lower tier folks.

1,000 views $1
10,000 views $10
100,000 views $100
1,000,000 views $1000
10,000,000 views $10,000
100,000,000 views $100,000
1,000,000,000 views $1,000,000

I've heard as high as $7 per 1000 views for them top performers.

We are in the wrong business.  Make videos, let it go viral by mistake and rake in them dough.

So the next time you watch a youtube video, look at their subscribers.  If they have something like 1 million subs and if you create any video and expecting them 1 mil subs to view it, you are already raking in $1000 for every videos.

Like printing money.   Why stop at making just 1 video?  I will never sleep and continue to make videos if I make $1000 for each one of them.
