Unfortunately Bait casting reels do really rely on quality that comes with a price.  But one doesn't need to buy expensive to get performance.

To tell quality one has to use it and use it for an extensive period of time to appreciate it.  It's all about quality time.

I still have my ugly stick set up...but I still prefer to use my St. Croix rods.  I still have my Shakespeare reels too, but I prefer to use my Shimano reels.

A very long time ago...Zebco was made in Japan...it's now made in China.

The real villain is looking at you.  The last hero was just not true.  If everything works out in the end.  It's because all things make amends.

Adverstisement

Things made in  China are gorgeous but unreliable.

It's not that China isn't capable of making quality things. They just choose not to make their products quality.

Look at Ford. It's not that Ford isn't capable of making quality cars. It just makes some cheap cars for the general public but has high-class cars just as Lexus, Acura, etc.

But I just don't trust too many things made in China.

I thought Samsung makes iPhones. At least I've seen hot Korean chicks on Samsung's phone ads.

Not everything made in China is good. Many of the rodent traps made in China break more easily than those made in England or Vietnam.

The chinese made iphone
Look at the back of your iPhone
It say “assembly in china(aka made in china)”
They have suicidal net around the iphone building
Because their worker were jumping off the building

Well, it doesn't matter where they are made. The makers know how to make things great if they choose to. And if they choose not to, the products won't have quality in them.

I think most people want the Stradic Ci4 fishing reel because it's made in Japan. This island-parts country is known for its quality work, although I wouldn'take Suzuki cars to be comparable to Toyota and Honda cars.

Ah! Just found out that Taiwan is the maker of iPhones. They may be assembled in China, but the phone parts are probably made in Taiwan.

Those nets are probably more to prevent objects from falling onto people. They won't stop suicide jump-offs. Any living human being can jump onto them, crawl to their edges, and then slip off still.
