Yup, we've done this in the last few weeks..My masks were wood dust and allergy protection but hey some protection is better than none especially for first responders..  O0:

Donate face masks to hospitals, volunteer remotely and buy restaurant gift cards. There's always a way you can help without breaking quarantine."

Anyone can help out and it can be big or small...such as checking on your elderly neighbors that live alone by leaving necessities on their porch, cut their grass, etc., donate money and things to the less fortunate like homeless shelter, food bank, etc., and if you have things that first responders can use to help them and/or others, give it...

Astros ace Justin Verlander to donate paychecks to help people impacted by coronavirus

The two-time American League Cy Young winner joins the growing list of professional athletes who are donating to those affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

Instead of being paid during Major League Baseball's shutdown, Verlander and his wife, Kate Upton, revealed on Instagram that he is donating his paychecks to non-profit organizations responding to COVID-19 to help those impacted.

According to figures obtained by USA TODAY Sports, he will get paid $4,773 per day for 60 days, which is equivalent to $33,411 per week or $286,980 over two months. Players are scheduled to receive their first paychecks on April 15 according to an agreement with MLB last month.

Seniors braving the grocery aisles during the coronavirus crisis got a big surprise Wednesday morning at some Louisiana Winn-Dixie stores.

“We have wonderful news for you,” said one store clerk. “Tyler Perry has just paid for your groceries for the day.”

Helping the elderly throughout COVID-19

People all are encouraged to stay home to contain the spread of coronavirus, and experts have especially urged older adults, who are at a higher risk of complications from the virus, to stay inside to protect themselves.

Not all elders can connect with family online. Some do not have the technology available, while other may find it challenging. Others may have hearing and visual difficulties or cognitive impairments. Technology is not a necessity if it will add more stress to an already stressful time.

“Instead, call your loved ones on the phone or send letters and postcards. Children can send drawings to their grandparents as well. Others may visit their elderly loved ones by waving and speaking through the window,” says Dr. Angela Catic, assistant professor in the Huffington Center on Aging at Baylor College of Medicine.

Family members or neighbors can offer to run errands or get groceries. Some stores are offering to delivery groceries for a cost.

“If there are alternatives to going to the stores, like neighbors, family or delivery, I would encourage them to do that to further minimize their exposure to others during this time,” Catic said.

Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Tom Brady, Adam Sandler, Sarah Silverman Throw Poker Hands To Raise Funds For Feeding America

Here’s a novel way that a group of Hollywood folks will engage in to help in the coronavirus pandemic. All In For America’s Charity is a stay-at-home poker tournament slated for Saturday, with all proceeds going to Feeding America, the largest hunger-relief organization in the U.S. that provides meals to over 40 million people a year.

Already, $1.2 million has been raised, and the game is open to 75 people, but even observers will get to interact with some high-level card players with Hollywood pedigree. Participants and organizers of that first game include Ben Affleck, Tom Brady, Adam Sandler, Jason Bateman, Tobey MaGuire, Adam Levine, Bryan Cranston, Sarah Silverman, Jon Hamm, Jason Mewes, Kevin Smith, Cheryl Hines, Matt Damon, Doyle Brunson and many other poker stars.

10-Year-Old Seeks to Empower Other Kids During COVID-19 Pandemic

Like many kids who are stuck at home during the COVID-19 pandemic, ten-year-old Sydney was beginning to feel hopeless. But, instead of letting the feeling overtake her, she and her mom took action.

Sydney knew that she had information that would make a difference if she got it out to other kids her age. So, the pair set out to produce videos giving out valuable information.

From their living room they wrote, recorded, and animated Kids Coping with COVID-19 using Story Maker, an educational software that her mom, Melissa Dilling, uses in her classroom at Eisenhower Middle School in Everett, WA.

After covering what kids can do for fun and how to arrange playdates, the series covered a unique way that school students can help the hospitals around them.
