I understand what you are trying to say.  And yes, like others pointed out, it's a matter of perception.  We can be in a huge hole of a mess, but even in that moment we can convince ourselves that things are temporary and that the problems aren't as huge, etc.  How we see things really depends on our own perception of the situation.  Do you see your life and/or your problems as cup half full or cup half empty, etc.

But, I understand, too, that human beings are generally never satisfied.  We aim to reach a certain level in life and when we finally reach it, we're like, "uhhh, I think I want more than this, maybe."  Most of us can never be fully satisfied.  Even the super rich and wealthy are probably not fully satisfied, because they may have money but they may be lacking in family, love, happiness, etc.

There are sayings: "Be happy with what you have" and "Make the most of what you have."  There are reasons for these sayings.

Yes, I think your statement is spot on but unfortunately for me, it took me a long time to realize it.

My measurement of happiness has changed a lot since I was in 20s or even 30s. I used to believe that if I ever reach the 100k mark salary, I would happy, or if I was driving an expensive luxury car, I would be happy or when I purchased my home, I would truly be happy. But when I finally reached these marks, I did not find the true happiness I was looking for. Yes, I was temporary happy, but it did not last. The happiness I thought I found only gave way to stress and only fueled my appetite for more. It took me a long time to finally figure out that I was only working harder and stressing because I wanted to keep up with the new lifestyle I have chosen for myself.

A few years ago, I realize I needed to change. So, I sold my 2800 sq ft home and purchased a 1600 sq ft home. I sold my 50k sedan and purchased a used Toyota with cash. I still have my job, but I am content to be where I am... I don't have any desire to climb the cooperate ladder anymore.

After giving up Social Media, TV and material things, I found a lot of free time and some extra cash... which has allowed me to travel and strengthen my relationship with my family and friends.

You are searching for your own meaning of life.  IT looks like your life is half empty because there are challenges and goals that you have not met.  Even the simplistic of things are not yet met.  You won the game of external life but you failed in other aspect.

You see, getting marry has its benefits and it troublesome.  But still, it is a walk of life for those who are not scared of it and are willingly to walk that life.  My cousin from mn is reaching 60 years old and yet, never had a gf.  The guy makes 6 figures for 3m and all he does is comes home from work and go grab a beer and chill in his man cave.  Every freaking year when I go visit his dad, I see the same routine coming from him.  He might not be daddy material and I get it but have you tried?

I think that is a missing part of life.  Sure you can go get your papers and it is easy but what about the other aspect like sharing what you got with another human being?

I have enough with chasing the papers.  I'm more about having an adventurous life.  I got my papers ready and all I need is to settle down, pop babies and ahem, make onlyfans for extra income for gay homie dudes only.   :2funny:

I know what you thinking.  The effering right?  Well it is a challenge.  If you are that bored, try onlyfans and charge people to watch your live your miserable life out.  Go the youtube route or something.  Challenge yourself.   Mia kalifa, that ugly curry chick is banking big time on onlyfans and she donated 6 figures to a charity and check this, she doesn't have to do nude.  As a challenge, I'll do it for free cuz you know, life gotta be more challenging than this.   I'm sure some gay guys out there would like to see me take a shower in my underwear or something.  No nude or I go to hell.   :2funny:

For some, they live for the moment.  For others, they plan ahead.  In life, there's nothing wrong with either or.  Without getting in depth, at the end of the day.  if it makes you happy, Do it!
