Let's talk Gamestop. It's interesting atm.
« on: January 28, 2021, 08:31:33 AM »
So a bunch of people online found out that there was a major hedge fund company who shorted Gamestop.  They all got together and decided to short squeeze this hedge fund company(Melvin Capital, for those who are curious).  Basically, everyone started buying up Gamestop stock and more people who saw this viral post on social media got in on the deal too so now Gamestop shares are soaring up to record highs.

My questions is, wouldn't those who own Gamestop shares before this squeeze want to sell now before it drops back to nothing?  Heck, if I owned shares, I'd get rid of them now.

Obviously, the prices will drop when people start panic selling.  Also, if you short them now, you'd probably make a fortune in easy money.

Risk vs Reward. I'd dump it now because in all honesty I'm a little greedy too. Idk where it is this morning but yesterday it was floating around $300 a share. Interestingly enough the subreddit group is targeting other stocks. They had a list, however accurate it is.

Eh. Depends on who has the money in the end. You can have $1000 shares all you want but until you sell it and it translates to cash in hand...

Blockbuster n bankruptcy n only 1 store existing.

7000% pop like quat da fawk?  Bliaq ticker.

They think they killed the hedge guys but those guy are making money both ways.  It rises cuz shorters are buying the other way to ride up to hedge their lost.  Once pricing is high, shorter comes in n wins again so what was the game plan again?

2 billionaires are in this game to drive it up and rides with retailer.  Look it up.  Interesting article.

The small retailer like us can join to ride the pump like a day trader.  Buy opener n put a stop lost sell right away after a big pop.

Rinse n repeat.

Another ticker I got a feeling of pumping is nakd.   Look at their recent movements as of late and reddit it too.

GG

what happen to the FREE MARKET? :2funny:

Retail brokerages restricted trading on Thursday in GameStop and other stocks caught in a frenzy that has captivated Wall Street and caused big losses for hedge funds.

Free-stock trading pioneer Robinhood and Interactive Brokers said that in some cases, investors would be able to sell only their positions and not open new ones. Both brokerages raised margin requirements on certain securities.

So now Robinhood, Ditto Nokia and AMC won't let you buy gamestop stock anymore.  How is this not market manipulation?  ;D

darn.  Need to open an account with someone who will let me buy a bunch of Put options before it drops lower.  It's going to tank when the selling frenzy starts.

I wouldn't short it.  Just buy a bunch of Put options on it.  I don't see this lasting more than a few days.  I think the big sell off will probably be tomorrow or Monday.
